After visiting the Lavender Fields earlier in the day my friend and I decided to walk to this restaurant to give it a try.
Despite its somewhat crazy location (kind of in the middle of nowhere) it was definitely a hidden gem!
The owners (husband and wife) were super kind and cheerful people, and the atmosphere was very nice (and air conditioned!).
The food was amazing. It's also fresh cooked, so while you have to wait a bit, it's totally worth it.
There is an English menu, but it has no pictures so it's a bit hard to use, and does not tell you what is really in the food (or what it is sometimes). It's nice to have, but I wish it was a bit better done.
In terms of the food: I highly recommend the naan with some type of curry (I got the yellow mutton curry, level 3 spice) and it was the best thing I ate in the last 4 days (on a vacation trip).
My friend got the special set meal with chicken vegetable soup curry, a tomato shrimp curry, a salad, tandoori chicken and turmeric rice. He also said it was amazing.
If you are in the area, I highly recommend it.
Edit: We came back the next day due to the JR trail having an issue and dropping us off one station late when traveling (doors didn't open) .
It so happened to be that we walked there a few minutes after it closed down for it's after lunch service break, and the owners saw us and let us in anyway, serving us with a smile!
On top of that, we mentioned it was one of our birthdays, and they even gave us a free Lassi drink to the birthday person (along with a happy birthday wish)!
This place is hands down one of the best places I have ever visited in Japan in terms of friendly atmosphere and good food.
I wish I could give it a 6 out of 5, but just take my...
Read moreI can't believe there is such high quality and authentic Indian/Nepali food tucked away in a corner of Furano. Absolutely blown away!
I got the Butter Dal, Aloo Jeera and Garlic Naan and all were fantastic. This was one of the best meals I've had on my trip to Hokkaido. The garlic naan was garlicky and just the right level of crispy. The dal had such amazing depth of flavor -- one of the best dal tadka's I've had in recent memory. This restaurant could hold its own even in India 🤩
They also have veg chow mein and garlic fried rice both of which were fantastic and reminiscent of street food in Kolkata.
The service was also VERY friendly and cordial.
Highly recommend any vegetarians or Indian/Nepali food lovers to visit this spot for some heartwarming and delicious...
Read moreAmazing hospitality and superb food! The curry is really thick and creamy! Apart from the superb food, the staffs were really friendly and could speak English as well. We walked to the restaurant from the train station for dinner and by the time we were done eating, it was past 6pm. Apparently taxi services stop working at 6pm here, so we were stranded but the chef himself offered to drive us back to our airbnb despite having new walk-in diners and he was busy 🥹 He told us that they also offer pickup services past 6pm but I’m not sure about the details, so you can call them if you’re keen to dine there past 6pm without a car. Amazing hospitality and great service!! I don’t usually write Google reviews but I feel touched to do so. Thank you for the warm service...
