Imadomare — Restaurant in Nakijin

I agreed with other negative reviews, unfortunately I read them after I went to this place. If it was not because of a friend’s recommendation, I probably wouldn’t have visited. The restaurant was small and only has one staff: he is the chef, the server, and the cashier. I understand that means food orders could be slower because of it. However, when the big group came in after me got multiple drink services before I got my food orders, I was not happy. Yes, drinks make more profit than food; I guess because I only ordered one drink and I was a less profitable customer. The food was ok. You would think that with the abundance of great fresh ingredients available in Okinawa, you will find great food everywhere. And I have had great food in Okinawa. What I got was a plate of oily plate of veggies and spam. I could get it somewhere else better. I don’t think it deserves a 4+ stars as shown. Amazing food and atmosphere at Imadomare. My husband and I went there two days in a row.

The menu varies from day to day. Every dish is well composed and was delicious. My personal highlight were the pasta dishes and mussels with tomato sauce. Carbonara with homemade(!) pancetta was prepared with eggs not cream. Octopus Pasta with lemonzest I would also recommend. But be assured every dish will be delicious.

The Owner has great taste in music and interior creating a wonderful atmosphere. The cooking takes time. The Owner cooks one dish after another while serving drinks and changing the LPs which gives more time to enjoy the food + music and for great conversations.

나키진에 숙소를 예약했기에 이 식당을 이용했습니다. 구글 리뷰 평점이 좋아서 방문했으나, 결과적으로 최악의 식사였습니다.

방문한 시점부터 다른 오키나와 식당과 달리 무뚝뚝한 대응이었으나, 음식만 맛있으면 되겠지라는 생각에 착석하여 음식을 주문하고 기다렸습니다. 외국인이다보니 메뉴 안내를 자세히 읽지 못하여 1인당 1개의 음료를 시켜야 하는지 몰랐습니다. 중간에 친절하고 명료하게 안내를 해주었다면 추가로 음료를 주문했을 것입니다.

메인 메뉴를 2가지 시켰으나 음식은 지나치게 짜서 거의 먹지 못하고 남겼습니다. 중간에 가게 주인이 무엇이라고 이야기하였나 웅얼거리고 들리지 않을 정도로 이야기해서 무엇인지 정확하게 못 들었으나 drink라고 이야기 하는 것 같았습니다. 그때까지 우리는 무슨 뜻인지 몰랐고 가게 주인이 그냥 지나치기에 무슨 문제가 있는 줄 몰랐습니다. 앞서 말했듯 명료하게 안내를 해주었다면 추가 주문을 했을 것입니다.

문제는 음식이 지나치게 짜서 음식이 거의 대부분 남았음에도 가게 주인은 식사가 괜찮았는지 묻지도 않았고 시종일관 무뚝뚝한 태도였습니다.

또한 기분이 몹시 나빴던 점은 계산을 부탁하자 우리가 계산했던 금액이 아닌 초과된 금액을 우리에게 말했고 금액이 틀렸다고 이야기하자 원래 금액으로 계산했다는 점입니다.

외국인이기에 현지 화폐에 익숙치 않았고 만약 미리 계산을 하지 않았다면 우리는 그대로 정확하지 않은 금액을 계산할 뻔 했습니다.

또한 계산을 마치고 가게를 나올 시점에 잘가라는 인사 대신에 1인당 1개의 음료를 주문해야 한다는 이야기를 그제서야 명확하게 이야기 했고, 잘못 계산된 금액도 음료값으로 하나 더 주문하면 해당 금액이 된다는 사실에 몹시 기분이 나빴습니다.

오키나와 여행을 하면서 너무 즐거웠고 행복한 기억이 가득하지만 이 식당만큼은 너무 불쾌한 기억입니다.

사람들의 입맛이 다양하므로 절대적인 기준은 없겠지만 제가 느끼기에 음료를 주문하지 않아 일부러 음식을 짜게 했나 싶을정도로 음식도 맛있지 않았습니다.

별로 추천하고 싶지...
