Stopped in at the Ikegawa Cha-en Cafe on the way from Kotchi to Matsuyama. We stopped in to have a break and enjoy the view before taking a hike through the Nakatsu Valley as it is just 20mins down the road. The cafe is very quaint and has plenty of outdoor seating overlooking the Doi River. The menu is for snacking so do not plan on having lunch here. Also, the drink menu is very limited to cold teas. Still, you’ll want to stop by for the pleasant service, tasty treats and...

This lovely cafe is nestled in a little quiet neighborhood, but you won't miss the sign/direction to the cafe. Be careful, though, of the steep slope down to park your car. The surrounding views of mountains, river, and green tea plantation had us busy snapping pictures for a while before we finally settled down to order our desserts from the patient and friendly staff. The green tea is really good and the brandy cake is something worth trying....

If you are near by this is a must for some snack and dessert. They have parking at the opposite site of the cafe. The cake was ok, ice cream was good but the look alike monchi (not sure what you call it. See photo!) was sooo good. We end up ordering another one. And every order they comes with a small glass of tea which is good. The environment is very nice, they even have a stream near by. The only downside is that there is this bad smell coming from...
