Lovely place to have lunch but be prepared to wait. There was quite a long line when we arrived at 12.30 and once we got a table we had to wait about 20 minutes for the curry to be served. The wait at the table was great though as it is extremely peaceful listening to the birds and gazing at the mountains. Cherry blossoms were drifting past and swallows were making their nests so it was a fantastic place to enjoy nature.
The curry was nice and filling. it was rich, flavourful, spicy and creamy. The seasonal special curry, bamboo shoots right now, was sold out but the medicinal curry with onions on top was great.
A little bit hard to get here but worth the visit to enjoy nature and slow food...
Read moreThe views were excellent and the curry was superb. However, the temple facilities below the café are very dirty and have not been restored or cleaned. Why is this, when the café is beautiful? It's a temple, isn't it? The monks were having a great time in the café with their motorcycle friends, but the temple is an afterthought? I had a wonderful time, but I was shocked when I entered the building to use the bathroom on the way back. Very disappointing. It was a temple café terrace where temples are not valued....
Read moreThe food was really delicious.
Unfortunately, they stopped the cable car and buses to go up to Mt. Myouken so you can come here by hiking or by driving. We hiked for almost 3 hrs from Myouken Guchi station so it would take another 3 hrs to go back to the station. Fortunately, a person was kind enough to drive us back to the station.
Overall, the food and the scenery while eating are worth the hike so I recommend it...
