This is a very solid chain restaurant. I noticed when googling there were 3 locations right off the hop. Very comfortable to sit in and is aesthetically pleasing. There was bench/booth seating with chairs on the outside.
English friendly with an English menu available. However, it is different than the Japanese menu at least with the layout. The way the set menu is explained is different as well.
They do not take all manners of card here so be prepared to have yen just in case. They did not take my American Express (they do take the Japanese cards).
The food I ordered was all very good. I substituted a salad. I had actually just wanted to add the salad but she took it as a substitution. The price was very reasonable.
We tried the following Fried chicken with veggies in black vinegar
Walleye Pollock with veggies in black vinegar
Seasoned fried chicken
I went with friends and we all ordered the sets. It comes with a soup and salad. I think the default is potato salad. I added a sweet potato croquette as well. Everything was a minimum 4 stars. I'm trying to think what I would give a 5 star to? I personally had a preference for the food with veggies in black vinegar. The seasoned chicken is good for people who don't care about variety and just want chicken as it's chicken and cabbage. The other dish has many more items to eat that were different and the sauce was very good. Between the chicken and fish I preferred the chicken.
Actually the dessert we tried I would give a 5 star. It was a sweet custard.

Read moreThis restaurant serves a lot of local cuisine at cheap prices, making it a great value. Its sort of a fast food place with the restaurant vibes. The flavors of the dishes are rich and delicious, and there's a lot of variety on the menu, including options for children. You can order single items, but I recommend trying the set meals. They come with rice, salad, soup, and drinks, which makes for a really satisfying and complete meal. However, the restrooms were dirty, which was disappointing. Despite that, overall, Ootoya is a fantastic place to enjoy authentic Okinawan food without breaking the bank....

I got a fried chicken today instead of my usual grilled mackerel, because the picture looked really delicious! Voila! It did not disappoint! When the food arrived, the plating was just like the picture. It...
