レストラン(海峡保養センター大間) — Restaurant in Oma

There’s some effort to get to Oma, so once you are there, making the most of it should include a visit to the Onsen up on the hill. The restaurant in the same building has some good food, too. There is no menu per se, there is a vending machine with the food and drink choices on the different buttons. You put in your money, and punch the buttons, and you get tickets for your food and drink and whatever change is left over. Oma is famous for its tuna, and rightly so. Oma also has a ranch for Wagyu beef, and to draw attention to the quality of their beef, they call it “Land Tuna.” This restaurant was supposed to have had a combo dinner of Oma Beef and Tuna, but that is only for some occasions, as it turned out. I had had a fair amount of Oma Tuna already, so I went for the Nabe pot of “Land Tuna.” It was brought out in a ceramic pot with a Sterno- like flame underneath the nabe pot; it got cooking fairly quickly.
