Kaiholo Cafe — Restaurant in Onna

On vacation from northern Japan, we attempted to eat here but they never served us 😔. In fact, they never spoke to us at all. Only pointed to where we were to sit. I’ve been in Japan long enough to know that some of them are shy and don’t engage much due to the language barrier. But we spoke to them in their language and still...nothing. After about 15 minutes of waiting, we sent my son to let them know we were ready to order. They came over to our table, yet we still got the vibe that we weren’t wanted customers. So, we politely left and went to Caanilani (Hawaiian Pancakes House). Now this place, 🙌 from the time we entered the door, we were welcomed and made to feel right at home. Incredible experience. First time going and will return. I ordered the mango smoothie, waffle plate (all plates come with eggs, hash brown, and your choice of meat), and a fried chicken basket. The mango smoothie was the best smoothie I have ever had. Absolutely incredible. Felt super fresh as I drank it and presentation was amazing. Then the eggs were cooked to perfection with the proper amount of seasoning. And finally the chicken and waffles, hashbrown, and bacon were all incredible. All of this was reasonably priced and for everything I ordered was around 2-2.3k yen. The average meal with a smoothie would range 1-1.3k yen

Are you hungry and want a place that's open for breakfast? KaiholoCafe is where you want to be to enjoy a beautiful view of the clear water near Onna Village and right off the expressway for a quick ride. Offers very few seating but it's worth the wait as it's usually not that long. Pet friendly as well. If you want a Hawaiian atmosphere here it is as the soothing music and decorations are quiet pleasant. The staff speak great English and only accept cash.
