Cafe Terrace NANOHANA — Restaurant in Onomichi

Wonderful little cafe to stop at while cycling the shimanami kaido! The cake and tea I got were delicious and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. We were tired from a long ride on a very hot day, and were planning on stopping early and taxiing to the rental terminal. However we unfortunately had a communication error with the taxi company and we found out quite late that no taxi was available, and were running out of time to return our bikes. The staff very kindly helped with communicating with the taxi service, and notified us of an alternative terminal we could get our bike to in time (the English pamphlet was not very obvious in telling the correct operational hours). We started our bike ride from Onomichi pretty early in the morning, and arrived to this cafe by 9:30am, where we had a wonderful toast breakfast set, with a small salad, yogurt, hard boiled egg, and the most delicious thick toast with honey, and coffee for ¥640. Run by a lovely couple. Easy spot to park your bike and it’s perfectly along the biking route. Would definitely recommend as your first rest stop, for coffee or for breakfast! Also...
