Kitchen Kuranbo — Restaurant in Ookuwa

We ended up eating here twice (coffee/cake and then a sandwich) as it was a hot day and our planned lunch place was closed.

The cake and coffee were absolutely fantastic. The chocolate cake (550円) had a rich chocolate flavour without being too sweet. The coffee (550円) was light and flavourful.

The sandwiches were also really tasty, with a generous serve of roast beef. A little on the light side for the price perhaps, but that’s what comes with the privilege of dining in a beautiful old restored building.

There are many interesting options on the menu and the food is delicious. I got a sense that these people are very passionate about food and this comes through in the creative menu and delicious cooking. The range of drinks available is also very good. We stopped for lunch and had the hamburger steak set and the spaghetti with eggplant and spicy meat. Both were lovely and included many tasty side dishes. The restaurant is a calm environment. We had a great lunch here - tomato, mozzarella and aubergine pasta, and a beef burger (no bread). Great find . Cost for 2 sets, 2 soft drinks and side portion of chips = 4000 yen. Highly recommend if you fancy something a bit different and find yourself...
