Ikuma Ramen — Restaurant in Saijo

This ramen whose broth is both fragrant and flavourful, wholesome and well balanced. Whereas many famous brands use too much oil and salt to deceive our palettes. The broth did not cause extended thirst like all other ramen, furthermore it left a lingering aftertaste stoking warm memories well over weeks upon returning home. A couple seniors of my group managed to finish the ramen and fried rice set, even after a heavy breakfast! Everyone downed the last drop of the broth which was rich but not overwhelming. I did not see any awards displayed but hey, it's located in the middle of nowhere! Fantastic job by the bunch of youths running the restaurant. BTW, our trip was in late November'24 and we chanced upon this wonderful ramen restaurant after visiting a quaint little fishing village, 西条のベネチア nearby. We took the National Route 194 from Kochi to Ehime which was breathtaking to say the least. There's enough pics of ramen so I will just share pics...

We got there right before opening time and there were already a bunch of customers waiting at the door. This is a much loved local restaurant. Glad we were able to get a table without waiting. The ramen is great, soup base flavor for both were good. The fried rice...

噂の生守らーめんに初来店！

らーめん店は大抵が昼間に混雑するのだが、このお店は夕方でもしっかり繁盛しており7～8名程の待ちができていた。

二人で行ったので、相方は生守らーめんを私は黒マー油らーめんと焼飯を注文。 麺の固さも六段階選べてgood！ 忙しいのに店員の対応や愛想もgood！ 豚骨ラーメン店ヨロシクの、無料高菜は辛みが効いててこれまたgood！

看板メニューの生守らーめんは豚骨の美味さがしっかり出てはいるが、味にパンチを効かしたいのか、マイルドにしたいのか少し曖昧な印象で、美味しいのに少し残念。

私の注文した黒マー油らーめんは、マー油が良く香り、味もシッカリガツンっとくる食べ盛り野郎が好きな美味さ❗️ 勿論替玉を注文。替玉は110円とリーズナブル。 このお店は替玉自体にタレを絡ませて持ってきてくれるので、味落ちせず美味しく頂けた。

焼飯の味の印象は、尖らず…守り過ぎず… どんなラーメンの横にでも、気にせずそっと居れる美味しさ。
