This charcoal grilled eel is the best I've ever tasted. It is not slimy and soft like the other ones I've eaten before. You can really taste the meat of the eel. The eel is so wonderfully grilled and complimented with the teriyaki sauce it literally dances in your mouth. The texture of the eel is so foreign yet the taste is so familiar to me. Absolutely amazing.

They even have a eel salad with a kind of citrus dressing (I guess?) which is something so fresh and new to me that it blew my mind.

Every set also comes with a tofu soup. I am also amazed by this thick and cloudy looking broth. There is so much 'tofu'ness inside that it's so good.

I highly recommend this restaurant if you are somehow passing by this area. There is no English menu here but pictures on the menu should...

Don't expect a wide variety of food. This place has served only Unagi (braised eel) and rice for 117 years and is unlikely to change things now. Very tasty Unagi (eel) it is grilled wonderfully, the tare (sauce) is rich and flavorful with some sweetness. Very close (5 minute drive) to the Kofuns (ancient ceremonial/burial mounds). Great for a lunch break while exploring the ancient grounds!...

かなり並ぶと聞いていたのですが、早めの時間に行ったからかすんなりと入れました! ご飯の量もボリューム満点で、呉汁もとても美味しかったです! うなぎは柔らかくて、タレをたっぷりつけて頂きました!
