Otaki Rest House — Restaurant in Sendai

This place was lovely as a little dessert & coffee stop while we waited for our bus. The place is staffed by some lovely old Japanese ladies.

They provide English menus and a nice selection of food and drink. We were served within 10 minutes of ordering (though we did just have desserts/drinks).

The chocolate cake was delicious (like a perfect brownie), though a little on the small side. The soft serve was fantastic, and they’re very proud of it.

Everything is served in grandmother style tableware that just warms the soul!

Also, they are very patient with and happy to serve English customers. I tried my best to order in Japanese but when I stumbled or was unable to understand them they were very quick to try to use a translation app and weren’t bothered...

This is a western food 洋食 restaurant, which means western Japanese food. There is not a large menu, a few pasta dishes and rice gratin dishes. Dishes were yummy and portion just right. The ladies running the place were very kind. For some reason at 12:30 they already ran out of some items...

It is a unforgettable experience I have in this restaurant. I feel the enthusiastic of the staffs the senior lady there. They are helpful even I don't speak Japanese, help me to order with the English menu and the appetizer there is tasty, the spaghetti and the coffee...
