Prezzemolo — Restaurant in Shibecha

I can speak a little Japanese but I don't think you'd need it here. Very welcoming staff, English menu available, simple and cozy. Made fresh too! I was even able to alter my meal slightly (leave out the bacon pieces from the napolitana), which the waitress was very happy to oblige - she was super helpful and friendly. The meal itself was delicious and a good portion for what you pay for. If you're nearby, I would highly recommend...

A quaint Italian restaurant literally out in the middle of nowhere - well it's along the main road between the Toro train station and Toro lake - which is pretty much nowhere.

The food is pretty decent. Had the seafood spaghetti and chef's salad. The salad was fantastic, a mussel or two in the spaghetti tasted a bit "weird" - I think the spices got "caught" up in them - and a few pieces of sliced scallops tasted a bit too fishy...

This place is just what you are looking for after a day of hiking and canoeing around the Kushiro marshland area of Hokkaido. Definitely worth a stop. Good, filling pasta. Great service with an English menu. Waitress is the sweetest, as is the chef (her husband?)...
