Mount Cafe SOL — Restaurant in Shimukappu

As far as “resort food” goes… this was great! Cute vibe and the food was really tasty. There’s basically no vegetarian options but if you order any of the pasta without meat, you’re good to go! It was a tad bit expensive but again this review is considering this is “on mountain dining” and I’ve had far worse meals that have been more expensive. There was also a wood burning fireplace inside which was very cosy. Looking forward to visiting again...

As a ski rest stop cafe it’s clean, spacious and has sufficient food variety. One can balk at the prices but hey, it’s part of the ski resort. This is operated by Hoshino resort so expect similar menu items / ingredients from the restaurants in Risonare. (There’s like roast beef in pretty much all the items... how much roast beef can one eat? Also, 800 yen tapioca...
