We stopped in for lunch around 1pm, and did not need a reservation or wait. It seems they hold tables for reservations, and stick walk-ins around other spots. We were seated on a comfy couch. We ordered the four cheese pizza and the seasonal charcoal-crust margherita. The four cheese has no sauce and includes blue cheese, so make sure you're into that before ordering! We did appreciate the all you can eat/drink salad and beverage bar that comes with lunch orders. It's a bit simple though. Coffee, tea, juice, water, and then two types of greens with one dressing. The place has a very retro-chic vibe upstairs, and after your meal you can explore the basement which is full of Ghibli-esque scenes, a treasure trove, and a western frontier themed porch outside. It's right by the train tracks which lends a cute rural vibe to everything. Between tasty pizza and stylish surroundings it's definitely worth a visit! It's just around the corner from the train station too, although the trains don't run that often so plan...
Read moreThe vibes of this cafe was just right from the start. We came on a snowy Sat morn. The train station (100m away) was old and quaint like from an anime scene. There was hardly a queue coz of the snow i guess.
The atmosphere inside was cozy and there were many small details that you will see if you made a small effort to appreciate the effort of the staff to decorate the place. Hint* try pulling out small drawers.
Price for the food was fair. Taste was delicious. Honey that came with our 4cheese pizza was good quality. Sesame buns used for our hamburgers were nicely toasted! There is a simple salad buffet to start your meal. Free flow of drinks including apple and grape juices, coffee and matcha!
After payment, we made our way to the basement to look at the ghibli themed decorations.
Wonderful experience!
PS. If you bought the snow monkey pass (2days) from Nagano and were wondering what to do on Day2, transport is free so PLEASE come here and get a once in a...
Read moreI braved the telephone and called as a foreigner. I was really happy I managed to secure a table on Valentines' Day. The menu was small, but I was very impressed with it because the food items were made with a lot of care. It was buffet day and the pizzas really exuberated the taste of very fresh ingredients. I love the cookies a lot, the smallest cookie I've ever eaten (well, you can take as much as you like), but the taste was really crunchy and the sweetness was really balanced.
I love food there because it couples really well with the ambience, small and petite and gentle with the mind.
Definitely go down to the basement to witness the marvel of a decoration. I couldn't believe my eyes. They were more that what I actually paid for watching. (You don't pay to go to the basement. I meant the food.)
Thank you for the...
