Cafe Jardin — Restaurant in Takamatsu

Wonderful café with outdoor seating and splendid unobstructed views (no power lines) of the surrounding flower garden and pond! The garden is very quiet (no car noises) and you can hear birds singing. Besides birds, you can see other animals and insects going about their business. Portions of the garden are landscaped with large designs and words that are intended to be read from airplanes that pass overhead once every hour or so. Incidentally, you can also read them on Google Maps😁

There’s a small fee to enter whenever there’s flowers in full bloom, generally from late March thru July? which they call “(name of flower) festival”. Many people go just to see the garden and maybe get a beverage or soft serve ice cream, but the food is also delicious and filling. そろそろ芝桜が見頃かな?と思って出かけてみました。ここはご夫婦二人で経営されています。飛行機からでも見えるように植えられた芝桜。頑張ろう日本という、花でメッセージを送るのはここが初めてだとか。毎年テーマを変えている芝桜の図案。今年はうさぎでした。芝桜の甘い香りが風に乗って漂ってきました。ゆっくり園内を散歩するのも良いですね。ただ、急な坂道もあるので上り下りは、お年寄りにはしんどいかも。入園料は大人300円です。安いから入りやすいのも有り難いです。中にはカフェもあります。ソフトも売ってますし、テントでは陶器や...

以前からGWまで見頃という噂を聞いていたのでお昼も兼ねて来訪。でも芝桜はもう咲き終わっているものが多くて私としてはもの足りませんでした。そのせいか休日にしては駐車場も1/3くらいしか車が停まっていませんでした。 芝桜よりはタイムの薄紫の可愛い花とかハナビシ草などが咲いていました。ナデシコは咲き始めのようでした。 園内ゲージの中にウサギが2わいました。 芝桜の苗も売られてました。フリーマーケットもやってました。 入場料は300円。奥にカフェがあります。トイレは臨時トイレみたいなものだった...
