Sazanamitei — Restaurant in Takamatsu

A very very traditional Japanese dining experience, known as "kaiseki"

We were 5 adults and 3 children and all had full blown courses that came as multiple small dishes delicately prepared and lovingly presented.

The service was wonderful and the atmosphere welcoming and attentive and we had the whole restaurant to ourselves which made it even more special.

I'm not a seafood person so I had the meat option and the dishes were varied between roast beef, pork and chicken and a beef boiled broth. It also came with delicious soup, a desert and delicious chicken fried rice.

What was most surprising was the cost, per person was around 3000円 (around £15) and for the kids meals which came with lots on the plate, 800円 (around £4) - it was just unbelievable value for money considering the beautiful presentation and quality and moreover the quantity of food given for the money.

The only downside is you must reserve and choose your dishes in advance (at least a few days before), you can't just waltz in. Also it would be wise to mention that it's mainly a Japanese speaking place so if you have a Japanese speaking friend that can help reserve, it's definitely worth the visit 😊

We left with very happy smiles and very full...
