Pizzeria Makino — Restaurant in Takashima

Dough was crispy and chewy at the same time. Smokey aroma went well with the contrast from the basil. The slightly salty bacon and dough had a good contrast with the sweet corn. Cheese was fragrant thou not half burnt so that it's crispy you know... But I think if it is roasted till like that, dough might be dry. Had a nice chat with the chef. Thou his English and my Japanese were both limited we had a nice chat. On my way out it started raining heavily. Seeing that I did not have a poncho, he gave me a spare. What more can you ask from a restaurant? Even my hotels I stayed in Japan are not so welcoming. Love...

We went to this Pizzeria on our weekend trip and it was totally worth it! There‘s not a lot of tables so we had to wait a bit, but the owners were very nice and tried their best to make us feel comfortable! Even though our Japanese is not very good they were not annoyed and helped us as best as they could. The husband speaks a bit English. Accidentally passed by this place last summer when walking towards Makino. Their pizza is yum! It saved my hungry belly after walking miles without finding a place to eat…

Sat at the terrace to enjoy some breeze and sound of cicada, encountered a cute resting green frog. 🐸

Saw quite few cyclists stopped by to have lunch as well, had pleasant conversations.

Would definitely wish to go back when visiting...
