On our way back from the Tanba Pottery Festival, we decided to enjoy a delicious dinner and made a reservation at a restaurant we found online in advance. True to its name, which means “Beautiful Little Path” in French, the restaurant is nestled along a charming riverside path in the countryside. The ambiance was enchanting, with the twilight moon and the vivid mountain range leaving a lasting impression. The course menu for the evening included: • Appetizers featuring homegrown vegetables like sweet melon and black soybeans, a petite mackerel sushi !, and dried venison ham. • Tartar of swordfish accompanied by figs. • Roasted pumpkin soup made with "Roron" squash. • Sautéed sea bass from Maizuru • Sautéed pork with a pecorino cheese sauce. • Dessert of Tanba chestnuts with couscous, rosemary sorbet • Herbal tea made with homegrown herbs like lemon leaves and lemon balm and petit fours including madeleines. The warm hospitality of the gracious madame and the sincere discussions with the chef, who is deeply committed to sourcing local ingredients, enhanced our experience. Every dish highlighted the natural flavors of the ingredients, offering us a moment of pure delight. The heartwarming atmosphere and the dedication of the couple running this restaurant left a deep impression. Maintaining such a high level of quality surely requires their steadfast commitment, honesty, and perseverance. This is a place we would love to...
