Kikuhiro — Restaurant in Tokoname

A spacious Japanese restaurant with a great menu if you're in the mood for seafood and other traditional Japanese dishes. The prices are quite reasonable considering the generous portions and high quality. Very fresh, very tasty. For seating, you have the choice of a counter or sitting on an elevated tatami floor with a pit under each table, giving you the option of sitting with your legs either crossed or under the table as if you're sitting in a chair. There's also plenty of parking, and the staff are friendly. One note: The menu is in Japanese and has no pictures, so if you can't read and/or speak Japanese well, you will probably struggle...

This ranks as one of the best eating establishments I have been to in the whole of Japan. The quality of the food is excellent, the staff service extremely friendly and the atmosphere very homely. The only downside is that it may be difficult to get to if not driving and the lack of an English language menu. The staff, unfortunately, does not speak English (or rather, just a spattering of English). Nonetheless, these impediments did not in any way impede on my enjoyment. A must to visit if...
