I have wanted to come here since seeing this shop featured on a YouTube video over five years ago. It’s a bit of a trek, but oh so worth it. I was the only foreigner here, so you know it’s good.
It’s a small shop located beside the station in a small side alley. The owner noticed me using Google Translate on the vending machine and directed one of his staff to hand me the English menu.
I ordered the medium sized tsukemen. It is a lot of food, but I’m not on this trip to lose weight. Hands down this is the best tsukemen I’ve ever had. The broth was not too salty, but rather a bit sweet, and there’s hints of yuzu as you get through your meal. Alongside the generous portion of noodles, you get three pieces of chashu, all of which was delicious and tender. When you’re done with your noodles, you can ask to add some dashi to the broth, which turns it into a delicious soup to finish off the meal.
Watching the owner and the staff work was also incredible. No wasted movements. You can tell he puts out his best every day into every bowl. He’s also incredibly kind, and I enjoyed our brief conversation before I left about where I’m from/me telling him how enjoyable his food was.
If I have time before I leave Tokyo, I will try to come back again to try the other ramen on the menu. Otherwise, I hope to be back again...

Read moreLast night meal before leaving Tokyo. Didn't make it on arrival and luckily made it before leaving. I am not too deep into ramen strategy, culture and such. However I just simply enjoyed the meal and would come back without thinking twice about the choice. One of many people learned about it from YouTube. Refreshing seeing more people working in shop. Even got some extra soup without asking for it. Wonder what triggered that offer :) Seeing people lining up at 9.30pm means something as well and seeing people waiting impatiently for dinner at this time brings smile to your face. Owner is likely to be around for a...
