The food here is absolutely amazing. I really enjoyed the local sushi plate, so much that I ordered a second one! All the local Sochu were good, I especially liked the local rice one ( Nami no ue no tsuki/ Sajijiman). I also really enjoyed the local wheat Sochu ( Habushira), and enjoyed both with soda. I also recommend getting the tempura ashitaba, it was a refreshing snack we had with our drinks. There isn't much staff on hand, so it does take time to get your food and drinks. But it was arelaxing place, staff is friendly, and very helpful. Just may take some time to relieve your order, but It's worth it! It also helps with enjoying the food and drinks at a slower pace, and savoring it.

It's a popular spot, so be sure and make reservations in advance if more than a person or two (or even if just that in the...
Read moreOne of the best places for sushi at Niijima. Fresh, wide choices, plenty served, reasonable prices. Highly recommended: Niijima speciality "shima sushi". We also like the wafu salad. The carpaccio was truely amazing. Friendly staff. The bright and fresh interior is a very pleasent difference from the dull, often shabby and cramped interior of most izakaya at Niijima honson. Sidenote: The place is well ventilated. You do not stink...
