Unafuji — Restaurant in Tsu

Great food, but the unisex restroom was a shock (maybe rural Japan style, but still surprising). Even more surprising is the line up for this place. The lot where people are waiting for HOURS is uncovered. The owners should cover the lot so people don’t die of sunstroke waiting for their food☀️🔥☀️🔥☀️

Overall, the charcoal-broiled unagi was great and crispy (I’ve never experienced unagi prepared like this). Really good touch there. People here in Japan seem to love waiting hours for food they could get at a normal place in 5 minutes. If you’re into that experience, Unafuji is a great place for you.

Good service overall and the prices...

Didn’t realise the queue is usually mad crazy for this place. We got there at 1pm on a windy extra cold thursday and there were 3 free tables. A few minutes after us the two other tables got filled up almost right away.

Ordered the biggest unagidon and thought it was a little too much for me, I felt bad I couldn’t finish the rice. The soup was nice too. Overall good quality unagi at very reasonable price! It usually costs us double for this size.
