the service and staff were very good in terms of professionalism, friendliness, and attentiveness. And it's an attractive space, though the music could've been lower in volume. The prices are on the high side (okay, compared to Tokyo), but the menu has items one may have trouble finding elsewhere. That said, I thought the small caesar salad was a bit high in price, though it was fresh and very good. However, the chicken kotoo was a disappointment. The flavoring was very good, but the thing needed a lot of chewing, especially what seemed to be hard wooden pieces of what I think was lemongrass. Another reviewer mentioned the online menu that you can only view by scanning a QR code with your phone: this is a trend in the US, and a lot of people, including myself, find it a nuisance. Read moreAbsolutely blown away by my experience at market in central Tsukuba! From the moment I stepped in, the ambiance was warm and inviting. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel right at home.
I ordered the smashed cheese burger with potato wedges, a blueberry bran muffin (vegan), and an organic specialty coffee. Every single bite was pure perfection! The burger was juicy and flavorful, the wedges crispy and golden, the muffin moist and delicious, and the coffee rich and aromatic.
The overall atmosphere was fantastic - perfect for a relaxed and enjoyable meal. I can't recommend market enough! This place is a true gem in Tsukuba.

The crispy potatoes, the big cuts of bread, the crispy bacon. It's amazing. Everything on the menu looks good, but I love the breakfast so much I've yet to venture out. I also like the chill vibe of classic rock they play in the background.
My only minor gripe from my last visit is they don't open until 10 am now (used to be 9), but it doesn't affect my review.
It's just a good place,...
