UBUYAMA PLACE PIZZERIA（レストラン） — Restaurant in Ubuyama

We couldn't try the food at Ubuyama Pizzeria due to a long wait, even at 2 PM on a weekday. However, this review is about one staff member's rude and discriminatory behavior.

A middle-aged male staff member (with dyed gold coloured hair) was dismissive from the start, rudely gesturing for us to use the Japanese-only tablet for a table. Another younger staff member kindly offered help.

After 10 minutes, we decided to leave as the wait was too long for our toddler. As we were getting her into the stroller, the same middle-aged staffer again gestured rudely, implying we were blocking the entrance for other guests, even though they were waiting patiently.

His behaviour made us feel unwelcome and discriminated against because we were non-Japanese. It was a shockingly disappointing first experience of this...

This was definitely worth the drive, this restaurant was such a nice surprise. We went around 2pm on a Thursday and there was no wait. Our seat was next to the window and had a lovely view of the mountains.

We ordered the salad which had various vegetables with a delicious dressing. For the pizza - I think this was one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had in my life!! We got the seasonal mushroom pizza and it was absolutely amazing. Would recommend this for mushroom lovers. Next time I would love to try the other pizzas or pastas.

For dessert we caved and got the cheesecake which was the perfect amount of sweetness, we even considered getting another one to take home!

Staff were all lovely and atmosphere was great. 10/10...

We came by for dinner and absolutely loved it. The restaurant is beautifully designed and we felt very welcomed by the lovely staff. The staff also took their time to explain the menu to us and also asked us about any allergies. The food was very delicious and also the price was fair.
