I showed up at an odd time- maybe like 7o'clock in the evening- and I pulled my car in wondering if it was actually still open because all of the lights were shut off as if it were closed. The chef was out front talking with someone, and then walked up to my window after I had parked my car, wanting to see if I wanted to eat at his café. He spoke in broken English, and I know barely any Japanese, but we managed to communicate enough to get the point across. He turned the restaurant back on just for me, then beckoned me to enter. The interior looked very quaint with a small dining space, custom rolling wooden chairs and coat hangers, and a chalkboard menu which I only understood because he explained each dish that was on it. After a bit of a wait, he brought the elegantly prepared dish I had ordered. Everything tasted good, but I wonder about the quality of the chicken because it almost felt like it was thawed with a microwave before getting cooked.
