Midori — Restaurant in Yasugi

For this window seat view all to myself, I enjoyed my time at this cafe. I think it would be better to select the ice cream and wagashi instead of coffee, tea or latte because any item is 1000yen. You'll receive a glass of water regardless. For some reason, I thought it would come with the dessert but I was wrong, haha.

During golden week, there was quite alot of people in the morning at the museum. If that's the case, this cafe was nice to slip away from the crowds for a bit.

I was really grateful I could get a window seat in the back. I felt I could take pictures of the zen garden without worrying too much about others around me. The garden was delightful and very calming.

Although we had to wait a little to get in, it was well worth it. We luckily got 2 seats at the window in the centre of the cafe (they ask you if you want a window seat before you enter, and of course, you have to wait longer for those), and despite already having spent a considerable amount of time viewing the garden, the cafe offered a slightly different view (completely unobstructed by people), and offered a very relaxing atmosphere for one again enjoy the garden in its radiant beauty. ２年連続で10月に訪れた足立美術館。こちらのお店は、美術館内に２つある喫茶スペースのうちの一つ。窓からは自慢の「枯山水」ガーデニングが望めるとあって、大変人気があるようです。

店内はルノアールっぽいクラシカルな内装。動線は広く、窓に面した席と壁づたいの席に二分されております。窓面の席が一か所だけ空いたのを見つけてタイミングよく入店！壁面席では価値が半減しますからね。

メニューを拝見すると、ドリンクも甘味もオール1,000円という値付けでセットメニューはありません。入店前は何となく、コーヒーにアイスクリームを頂こうと考えておりましたが、よくよく考えるとそれぞれが1,000円するので、合計では何と2,000円！

ちょっと躊躇ってしまい(^^;)、連れも私も結局『白玉クリームあんみつ（1,000円）』を単品オーダー。アイスは抹茶かバニラを選択する方式でしたので、二人とも抹茶をチョイス。代わりに飲み物はお水で我慢です(^^;)。

登場したカラフルなあんみつ。黒蜜を掛けて味わう甘味の数々はこれと言った特徴が無いものの、美味しい(•‿•)。抹茶アイスは甘さを抑えた渋い味わいで、こちらもなかなか旨いやつでした。

でも、このお店の主役は食べ物ではなく、窓から見えるこの景色。この日はまずまずの晴天で、見事に手入れされた庭園も素晴らしい眺め。この景色を貶す方はきっとなかなかいらっしゃらないでしょう。1,000円...
