Hanasagi Japanese Cuisine — Restaurant in Yomitan

First & Foremost: If it doesn't look like you're at a restaurant - you're there. We weren't sure if we had gone to the right place - because the door is so obscured from the road - but it was worth being insistent on what Google had said.

The wife & I were the only people inside this very quaint & calm spot - and it was a nice end to a busy day. It looked to be a mom & pop who were cooking, preparing & serving the food - and it was truly very endearing.

The wife had a whole cooked fish (maybe 3/4 lb) & I had the wagyu beef steak which were cut into small cutlets. It's very important to note that EVERYthing was hand prepared - even the wasabi was hand ground for the meals. It was all cooked to order (not over or under done in any way) - hell even my side of rice was not too dry or wet & accented in a side dish to make the presentation all come together.

Came with a big family of seven. We asked the owner to serve whatever he thinks would be right for the party. Despite the food being amazing, the owner and the staff’s warm hospitality were impressive. We had a little drama of our young child swallowed an ice cube, and left in a hurry out of panic. We had the most amazing experience here last night. We don’t speak any Japanese and had our hotel book the reservation for us. We told chef that we were happy with whatever he wanted to make us and he did not disappointment. Every course had so much flavour and unique ingredients we had never had before.
