Welcomed and seated by a lovely lady. Order taken by a friendly gentlemen. Unfortunately that is where the pleasant experience ended. The food was really not good and took so long. My partner had to go up after an hour and tell the staff we were ready for our mains, despite staff walking past the empty plates we stacked at the edge of our table. We were not asked if we wanted any drinks (after the first ones ordered with our food) and sat there with empty glasses. The staff walked through the restaurant managing to avoid all attempts to make eye contact. The risotto served to me was stuck together and so so dry. Rice not cooked through. Cold - cheese had not even melted!! The only moisture came from the oil pouring out of the deep fried mushrooms which were inedible. I took one bite and moved the plate to the edge of the table and tried to get someone attention for the next 35 minutes. Partners plate was a little better. Chips were warm. Salad was fresh, unfortunately he said the steak was not great. After waiting another 15 mins (on top of the 35) i had to send my partner to the car as he was furious. After he left I sat trying to catch the eye of someone for another 15 mins. Finally someone came to take the plates and i asked them to get the manager and leave the plates so i could show what my issues were. No manager so the person looking after the place that evening came over. I honestly think they had had a drink or two. He was polite. Listened to my concerns and agreed with me about the risotto. I told him i would not be paying for it and he said he would not charge for anything. I insisted on paying for the drink we had each had. He went off to get the bill. Couldn't believe when I was still left sat there 10 mins later. I got ip and went to the bar. The man was nowhere in sight and the other lad behind the bar printed the bill. Arrived at 7.35pm and didn't get out the place until 9.30pm ish and then had to go home and make something to eat. I appreciate the food coming off the bill, bit there is no way I could recommend this pub. No music, no atmosphere, not asked if food was ok, if we wanted water, another drink, had to chase for mains. Have asked friends that live near by and they don’t go anymore after having experienced the same issues as above. Do yourself a favour and drive straight past this place and head to the Seymour pub. Same chain - totally different to this place.

I chose Le Hocq to have a relaxed Sunday lunch with friends to celebrate my birthday which was the previous weekend. The service was faultless from the minute we arrived. Orders were taken quickly and both food and drink were served promptly. The roasts were delicious and we were given extra gravy and offered extra potatoes. They even gave me a mini bottle of Prosecco for my birthday which was such a lovely touch. Le Hocq is definitely one of my favourite Liberation pubs and will be returning soon.

Lovely pub and relaxed atmosphere. Good choice on the menu, reasonably priced food, and very tasty. Download the Liberation app to receive 25% discounts on meals on a Wednesday. Different offers during the week . All the Staff are warm and welcoming, most importantly dog friendly! Will definitely return here on our next visit to Jersey 🇯🇪. Its in a beautiful location too.

This pub is one of the best on the island. It just happened to be the only one in walking distance of where we were staying and how lucky that was! Most of jersey's pubs are in St Helier and unfortunately are mostly sports bars. The others are needing TLC although there is the odd classy bar and some of the hotels have nice bars and terraces. Because the seafront is built up and the harbours are working ports there are no places to drink with attractive sea views. To get these you must go to the beach restaurants scattered along the coast. Inland there are a few pubs most of which not much cop. There may be some great pubs but we couldn't find them. Le Hoq was the exception. Not oldy worldy but decorated to modern tastes, above average menu with high ish prices but not Michelin star prices! Helpful staff and good local beers on draught. Located over the road from an interesting rock and sandy beach with a nice suntrap terrace. Take your swimming gear for a visit to the...

I would just like to say a big thank you to all the staff at Le Hocq Inn for making this Mother's Day the best ever! We were a party of 11, with 8 adults and 3 children. All the ladies had a free cocktail on arrival which was such a lovely gesture. The children were given colouring to do, which really helped the adults 😁 The food was amazing and the service was second to none. We were even offered extra roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings and gravy as we ate. My son who couldn't finish, asked for his leftovers as a takeaway, and they put some extra potatoes in, to make sure it was a full meal he was taking away. All this was finished with a drink on the sun terrace. Absolutely loved it! Can highly recommend and we shall definitely be going...
