St. Mary’s Pub & Dining — Restaurant in St. Mary

I googled best places to eat in Jersey whilst we were on holiday and the pub came up. Having mainly good reviews i decided to book lunch for two. I ordered 2 pints of orange and lemonade which came out well short of being what i had ordered so took the drinks back and asked for them to be topped up with lemonade to make them a full pint only to be advised that they do not have draught lemonade and used bottled. This made the 2 drinks £11.45 !! what an absolute RIP OFF I ordered the beef and liberation ale pie and mash which was absolutely tasteless in all areas. The wife had fish goujons which were just ok at best. I wanted to complain but the wife asked me not to and just pay the exorbitant bill and walk away which went against my better judgement but done for her. I cannot recommend this pub to anyone but...

I'd love to be able to leave a good review, having always had good service and food in the past, so thought Xmas day would be good option. Starters and mains cold and not as described on the menu. Food missing and desserts (fondant) overcooked. Waitress had 2 speeds, slow & stop! Then came the bill. 'forgot' to take off our deposit! Had to question several items and all I got was "oh yeah" When we raised the issues with the manager her response was "well if I had my way, we wouldn't be open!" not a sorry or anything! Not being one to usually leave negative reviews, and adopting the mantra if you can’t say anything good, don’t say anything and using Google as a benchmark we usually are satisfied but reading all the other reviews I’m not sure we visited the same place! For sure It’s a place full of character but the dining experience didn’t match our expectations. Unfortunately every dish was loaded with too much heat for us ? even the salad!
