I met 4 friends here for lunch on Sunday 8th December. Upon entering I explained to a waiter that we were on a tight schedule and asked if he'd mind taking our order straight away. He pointed to a young woman and said that he'd ask her to come straight over. After around 15 minutes, I asked the waitress if she could take our order. She said that she would be straight back and kept us waiting another 10 minutes, until I attracted her attention again and re-asked her. I again explained that we were on a lunch break from work and needed to order now. She took our drink order, went away and came back a couple of minutes later to take our food order. We waited around 15 minutes for our food (Sunday roast 2 x 2 sharing deals), which was bright to us by the original male waiter. We were shocked to only get 1 cereal bowl of vegetables between us all and asked for more. He replied "yes, the chef said you just need to ask for more". We asked for more and he went to fetch them. After about 7 or 8 minutes, we had to call the waitress over to advise that we'd not received our vegetables and off she went. Several minutes later, the waiter arrived with a large bowl of vegetables. By this time, the rest of the food was cold. Besides this, the pork was nice, but the other meat & Yorkshire pudding overcooked. We did not have time for dessert and had to ask for the bill, which we again waited for. It was an extra insult for the waiter to go to 2 other tables to pay their bill, even though we'd asked first. I will not be visiting again. What should have been a pre-christmas meet up with friends, turned out to be a stressful and...
Read moreWe rang at 5.30pm on a Sunday to ask if they had a table free. Although they were very busy, we were accommodated at 6.30pm. The staff were very welcoming and showed us to a table in the restaurant, which I would definitely recommend (although they have several other dining areas in the bar and outside). My husband ordered the fish/chips/crushed peas and said it all tasted superb. I chose chicken fajitas with salad, which was also fantastic. Both portions were so generous we didn't have room for dessert (a couple on the next table had a roast beef dinner and nachos - again both meals were huge). The prices are very reasonable and offer great value for money.
All the staff were extremely friendly and shared stories of where they originated from and how they came to work in Jersey. The deputy manager introduced us to the team and offered us advice about taxi services on the island.
We were so impressed with the whole experience and great customer service that we will certainly visit The Tipsy again before we go home! Highly...
Read moreVisited yesterday night for dinner and wasn't too busy but we had to find someone to sit us as the restaurant is through the other section. We ordered our drinks and then starters which both took a while to arrive. My Dad then ordered some wine which didn't arrive until he asked for it again but to be fair the waitress wasn't writing the order down. We got two flatbread which were really tasty but quite hard to cut into so would've been good to get a pizza cutter with it. Our mains also took a while to arrive as my parents both got their meals but I had to wait another couple of minutes for my nachos. They were very tasty but it was a massive portion so I wonder what the sharing plate size is! Didn't finish it off as it was too big. We didn't get dessert as we were all too full. My parents got two black Americanos but my Mum thought they were a bit bitter.
Overall, the meal was very tasty and there was lots to choose from, but the service could've been a bit...
