So I called 6 hours beforehand and made a reservation for three people at 8pm and I was very clear on the phone that I wanted a table with a view. The guy on the phone agreed and made the reservation. I arrived 20 minutes earlier and as soon as I was welcomed, I told them I reserved a table for three at the view. The guy (which I believe is the same one who took my phone earlier because the voice matches) told me that "I was late". I told him I made the reservation at 8 and it was 7:40. He told me "I'll place you as close as I can to the view". I walked along and he gave us the table next to the kitchen and no view. I sat down and I let my friends know we are leaving since it was not the table I had reserved. The waiter got us water and menus and I loudly said "we are leaving". My friend saw the waiter talking to the guy who placed us at the table and pointed towards us. My friend told me what happened. The guy who placed us at the table stood up behind me and I had no idea. My friend, who saw them earlier, said "Let's leave". Once I stood out of my seat, the guy told me "if you want a table with a view, one just got ready". I told him, "no thanks. You had your chance when we came in. We are leaving". My friend, however, suggested we check out the table. I went along with it and he moved us towards the view. The table literally had a "reserved" card. I told him," that one just got empty?". He nodded his head, nervously of course. I didn't care much at that point and we sat down. We ordered our food and the waiters were very sweet. However, both of my friends food was good and steaming hot. Meanwhile my burger was cold. I didn't feel like returning it or making a fuss about it, so I just ate it. We had ice cream and tea and it was all good. By the time we asked for the bill and to pay visa, the waiter told me they don't take visa. Which is very inconvenient of them to be honest as I invited my friends out and wanted to pay and I had no cash on me. My friends ended up paying and did not let me pay them back. Rude manager, cold food and very expensive, and most importantly, THEY DO NOT TAKE VISA. Which is very suspicious in my opinion. I could have easily found another cafe with a great service and do take visa. Do not step in this cafe. You will regret it. Oh and one more thing, we paid 2 jod for the valet service!!! We were not told that it was a paid service otherwise I could have parked my own car. HATED EVERYTHING...

I’m torn on this place. On the one hand, it has a beautiful view overlooking the Salt. The air is fresh and the seating is relaxing. They allowed us to come in even though it was 30 minutes to closing so that was kind of them. On the other hand, we still can’t figure out why we were charged $130+. I believe we were definitely overcharged. My husband should’ve looked at the receipt more carefully while we were still there (but when you’re with friends it’s an awkward situation). Moreover, the waiter kept pressuring us asking “do you want this? Do you want that?” That was embarrassing and annoying in front of our friends. The cherry on top was having to pay a two dinar valet fee we had no idea about. We could’ve parked our own car. Oh and they don’t take visa. As for the food, nothing special there’s much more delicious (less expensive) food in Amman. You really come here for the view. So go but stick to a drink and then tell the waiter to leave...

Despite the fact that the restaurant's location is beautiful and the food is tasty, yet I was very disappointed with the unprofissional management ! I visited their restaurant yesterday around 6 pm, and was promised to be seated beside the cliff as soon as a table clears hence i decided to stay, took a lobby table and made my orders to be shocked later that they literally ignored me (By the orders of the manager) who came to my table to apologize for not offering me the cleared table, his excuse ( its a season and a busy day, please tolerate , we cannot lose afford losing a walk in customers looking for cliff view !!!! By 9:30 - 10:00 pm the rush will stop and hence you can set where ever you like) . Apparently I was depriotorized because I already made my orders. I felt hemated , paid, waited for my kids to finish their meal and left.

I am never going back despite that me and my family are...

“An Unforgettable Experience!” Oriental Cafe in Al Salt is an absolute gem! From the moment you step in, you’re greeted with warm hospitality, a cozy atmosphere, and stunning views of this historic city. The food is nothing short of spectacular – every dish is bursting with authentic Jordanian flavors, crafted with care and attention to detail. But what truly sets Oriental Cafe apart is their hookah offering. The hookah here is smooth, perfectly prepared, and the ideal complement to a relaxing evening. Whether you’re here for a meal, a casual hangout with friends, or just to enjoy the scenery, this place delivers on every level. I can’t recommend Oriental Cafe enough – it’s a must-visit if you’re in Al Salt. Great food, amazing views, and a top-notch hookah experience. I’ll definitely be back!

Oriental Cafe in Al salt is one of my favorite spots — I make sure to visit it every year when I come to Jordan. The place is very nice, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The food is always delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. The service is amazing — the staff are friendly, attentive, and always make you feel welcome. They’ve also recently opened a covered outdoor seating area, which is a great addition. You can sit outside and enjoy the sun without it being too hot, so it’s perfect even during the day. Overall, Oriental Cafe is a must-visit. Consistently great food, excellent service, and now even more comfortable seating — I always look forward to going back!
