If you’re a meat lover like me, you’ll want to mark your Thursdays for a visit to Golden Eagle Spur along Kiambu Road . This spot has officially won me over with their all-you-can-eat pork ribs special every Thursday — and yes, it’s unlimited for just Ksh 3,400. No sharing. No takeaways. Just you and a mountain of juicy, flame-grilled ribs.

But that’s not the only reason I’m coming back.

The ambiance is laid-back and family-friendly, with clean interiors, warm lighting, and even a kids' play area that makes it ideal for a group or family outing. Service? Top notch. The staff are genuinely welcoming and attentive — shoutout to Patrick and team who made sure we were comfortable throughout.

Whether you’re in the mood for steak, burgers, or a full combo plate, they don’t miss on flavor. I also tried their "Big Three" combo (ribs, chicken thigh & wors with chips and onion rings), which was an absolute feast.

I have always been a loyal Spur customer, having visited all their restaurants across Kenya without any issues, until my recent visit to Golden Eagle Spur Kenya on Kiambu Road, a franchisee operated by Loswani County Hotels Limited. Unfortunately, this experience was deeply disappointing.

The French fries & Salad dressing served to me was EXPIRED, with a HORRIBLE taste that sadly resulted in FOOD POISONING. Despite tasting it a few times to confirm, the damage was done, especially since my fries were already drenched in the sauce. Although the waitress was kind enough to promptly replace my plate, I was too queasy to continue eating.

This incident has severely impacted my perception of Spur Kenya. It’s alarming to contract a foodborne illness from a multinational restaurant known for its high standards. I urge Loswani County Hotels Limited to address this matter seriously to prevent similar experiences for other customers. Spur Kenya’s reputation deserves better care and accountability.
