An absolutely pleasant surprise, where what we expected for a random Saturday afternoon lunch turned into a culinary experience in the middle of one of the most random/ remote locations in kilifi. Literally the middle of the bush in a boabab tree. Was an experience we won’t forget. As vegetarians we were surprised with the selection of food and how amazing it tasted and how well prepared it was. Would def recommend for vegetarians to try the vegetarian burger, baked Camembert, beetroot bhaji as well as sliced bhajia and ricotta tortellini. What the chef has done is capture flavours beautifully. The venue is an either you will love it or it isn’t really your scene vibe. But has a charm about it that makes it a unique destination when you are travelling to kilifi. Juliana was a fantastic waitress and her service was phenomenal, and Peter who not only runs the place but is the head chef was so warm and kind and helpful.

Gorgeous and tasty food, I had the ricotta tortellini for mains ,and Camembert as a starter. We had preordered because we were a larger group and we were told there was a large party after us, so even told to come earlier. But food arrived very quickly which was a nice change. You could tell the food was made very delicately and with care. Absolutely stunning location, just a shame we were the only ones there. It could have done with some nice background music and more lighting as it was quite dark. But would definetly return😍

Great food, great ambiance, great location! I second what others have said that is this place is a hidden gem and a unique dining experience under a 2000+ year old baobab tree. The only downside is that it can be a bit difficult to find. After the tuk tuk drops you off at the gate, there are no clear signs or directions, so you’ll need to make your way in through the semi-darkness. Just follow the path of lights, and you'll find your way. A bit tricky, but totally worth it once you get there!

The Twisted Fig, what to say about this stunning restaurant? If you've ever wondered what it would be like to be Jane, as in Tarzan, and swing from the trees, this is the place for you! Grouped around a huge baobab tree the deck stretches out over the tree canopy, so you get the impression of eating in the air! The menu is imaginative and delicious, the portions generous, I had two starters, and the service excellent. The deserts are truly scrumptious....I could have devoured them all, and being a 'gluten-free' there was sufficient choice to actually have a choice! The wine list, whilst not extensive, was sufficient to cover all tastes and pockets. It is extremely well priced and you leave feeling you've enjoyed an unique experience. I can't recommend it more...

Very disappointing experience.

We came in excited to try the food, but unfortunately left feeling deeply disappointed.

We were the only customers when we arrived, but service was extremely slow - over an hour of waiting with many different and conflicting excuses! Meanwhile, a group of white patrons who came in after us received prompt, attentive service. We were told they had pre-ordered, but even the general attitude and attention were drastically different!

When our food finally arrived, it was cold and poorly made, so we sent it back and left. No apology, no accountability. Would...
