Mavericks Restaurant — Restaurant in Syokimau-Mulolongo ward

Being scared of Nairobi traffic vis-a-vis being left by the SGR is real. By the way, me and SGR are still amicably divorced. You should list this fear among the things you fear most. The story of me and the Chinese iron snake is for another day.

Today, let's talk about Maverick and how I ended there. There is this friend who has sworn their undieing love for the Chinese iron snake. So they requested me to drop them there. So fearing maandamano manenos we leave early by 12 as they ought to be there by 2-2.30 for security check and ticket printing. But alas everyone is scared of maandamano and the roads are clear so within 20mins we are on Mombasa Road and so we decide to have a cup of tea as there are 2hrs to spare. That's how we ended in Maverick.

I ordered a cup of tea and a banana cake. Well, the tea was awesome, but the banana cake was completely off the mark. My partner ordered some sandwiches which came with some fries. That's where the deal was; a sure bet and a cup of tea too.

We enjoyed our cup of trea very much with a great view of Mombasa Rd below us. The restaurant had a very good ambience. Comfortable sitting area and some cool feeling. A sure place to wait...

This is best restaurant in the Syokimau and probably among the best in the whole Nairobi.

The interior design is surely a masterpiece; they have plants and flowers inside the whole property and a bookshelf which all make the inside feel so cozy. They also have good background music for that relaxation.

Their food is top notch. We enjoyed their tex mex pizza and other menu options. The food quality is just perfect and portions are huge enough. Worry not about the prices; they are worth and averagely cheap. They also have tasty coffee and cocktails

The staff are so good. At first we were in a hurry and requested for a quick fix which came in literally 2 minutes. Later we went for a relaxed experience without the rush and the staff are surely awesome. Friendly, engaging and happy; you can clearly tell they love their job.

Highly recommend and you won't be disappointed....

It is located in the gateway Mall. One of the few restaurants in the mall so if you are looking to meet someone in that area, this would be a good choice.

The place is clean, the service was okay and the menu is reasonable.

There isn't anything in particular that stands out, but if all you want is a meal or a drink, you can't go wrong with this place.

They do not have milk alternatives and their snack menu is quite small.

I got a peppermint latte with some sausages that came with a small side of fries.

If you are on a solo date, you could spend anywhere from KES 600 to KES 1500 depending on what you have and a bit more if you are two or more people.

The place can get quite hot so take a seat near the fan. It can also get noisy if packed in addition to the music.
