Nestled in the heart of Mombasa, Poco Loco Bistro is a hidden gem that beautifully captures the essence of Swahili culture. From the moment you walk in, the traditional ambiance transports you to another time and place, where rich heritage meets modern comfort. The décor, a mix of rustic charm and coastal elegance, perfectly complements the culinary journey that awaits. The menu is a love letter to Swahili cuisine, offering an array of dishes that celebrate the vibrant flavors of the coast. From the fragrant pilau to the creamy coconut curries and perfectly spiced seafood, every bite tells a story. The use of fresh, local ingredients ensures that every dish bursts with authenticity and flavor. What truly sets Poco Loco Bistro apart, however, is the impeccable service. A special mention goes to Look Man, whose hospitality is second to none. His warm smile, knowledge of the menu, and genuine care for guests make you feel right at home. Whether it’s your first visit or your tenth, Look Man ensures that your experience is unforgettable. Pair your meal with one of their refreshing Swahili-inspired beverages, and don’t miss out on their desserts, which are the perfect sweet ending to a fantastic meal. For an authentic taste of Mombasa and a dining experience that feels like a warm embrace, Poco Loco Bistro is a must-visit. With its traditional ambiance, exquisite dishes, and top-notch service, it’s a place where...

after we were finished, we were asked if we need a taxi because the restaurant had their own driver. we wanted to support their people instead of uber, so we agreed. this was a big mistake.

when we wanted to pay the driver he said he had no change, so he suggested to drive us around until it‘s worth what we gave him. we said no, so he said he can get it changed at a store around the corner. we agreed. we drove off, but he kept driving a few minutes until we asked where we are going. he then said that he takes us to the old town, which was completely not what we agreed. we refused and insisted he should just get the change. after a few minutes he finally stopt, changed the money, gave us the change, we got out of the car immediately and called an uber, because we really did not want to drive off again with this guy.

we were so scared because we just didn‘t know where he takes us. i was so disappointed that the restaurant gave such a driver to us, because they all...

I am glad this place exists purely because of the ambiance and the idea of it. I was excited about the menu, but unfortunately, my taste buds were not as excited or pleased. The staff was attentive, and the food came at a reasonable time, given it's Mombasa. The pricing is very low and quite reasonable for anyone on a strict or reasonable budget. However, if you get nothing from the food and love food like I do, it's pricey even if free. I had everything goat-goat soup and goat curry. I also ordered the garlic butter naan, and it was not good at all from the butter being slapped on without care and the Naan not at all tasting like Naan but a dried biscuit. Dare I mention the greens were not good either. I really wish the food was as good and pleasant as the staff and ambiance. From the previous reviews, perhaps I should assume it was just not their day,...

Lovely experience. Service slow but they actually write it on the counter. I just found it odd during the weekend no sodas. No alcohol is sold there. Prawn curry was a tad bit too salty, mishkaki beef was a bit hard, but everything else was above my expectations. Very good chicken curry, perfectly cooked rice, a good amount of shrimps pieces in the curry I'm glad it wasn't whole shrimps with head. Even the chips were well above average. A bit awkward when the server asked us to taste in front of him when he served our plates. Unfortunately no card payment accepted but free wifi on the premises. Would I come back ? Yes. I would recommend also. For more detailed unbiased reviews do not hesitate to follow.

There are no words of satisfaction that can express my gratitude for their service. Their meals were very delicious and their fruit drinks were so good, plainly natural. We are from Cameroon and we were well entertained with Cameroon music. The manager, owner and workers were very polite, kind and welcoming, the surroundings is very beautiful, calm, peaceful and quiet. If you have plans to come to Mombasa , this restaurant shouldn’t fail to be added to your tourist list. The meals we ordered was so much and we took some for takeout. Thank you again for the unforgettable and loving service. I would had posted more pictures but I took mostly videos
