Arrived around 2200 and the interior dining room ("in the ship") was empty. Wait staff was polite and helpful as one of our party had misplaced his mask and the provided a new one.
Atmosphere inside was dark and candlelit. The room was quiet and conversations were easily heard. Mind that our party of 4 was the only ones inside.
The server seemed confused about our order and who wanted what. He continually spilled drinks while pouring, brought out the wrong beverage, and even served the wrong entrees.
The menu is moderate, high-quality, and in both Arabic and English. Prices are high. You must use a QR code to access these as digital versions are the only ones available.
The presentation is interesting as meat products are presented on hot cast iron skillets - think of fajitas in a Mexican restaurant.
Turns out, when two guests ordered the Sr thing but with different meat preparation temps, they were mixed up.
I ordered the Porterhouse. The cut was fine, a bit more fat trimming would have been nice, but acceptable.
The texture was poor however. The cut was tough and grainy. Served with excessive amounts of butter, the less than sharp knife made cutting difficult with the ever-present threat of shaking boiling butter on myself.
Located in the very popular Raddison hotel, it seems that the restaurant has become complacent on simply expecting you to accept what is put in front of you.
Overall, a nice meal with pleasant, if somewhat confused service. Check your cuts and temperatures to ensure compliance. For the price, it's...
Read moreI joined a pair of colleagues at Al Boom for a nice dinner on a Saturday evening..
From the moment I approached the entrance, within the Radisson Blu hotel complex, I knew I was going to experience something I hadn't previously..
Set within an old sailing vessel, Al Boom delivers a unique culinary experience in one of the most unique venues I've ever experienced..
As we reviewed the menu, engraved brass placemats were set, as was rose gold finished flatware, neatly bundled in fabric napkins..
Our trio sampled the lobster bisque soup, fried calamari, and Dynamite Shrimps as appetizers.. The lobster bisque soup was reported to be quite tasty, and I can personally attest to the quality of the calamari and Dynamite Shrimps.. Both were very enjoyable..
Our main courses included my Angus tenderloin, an Angus ribeye, and an Australian Wagyu ribeye.. Each of the three steaks and their accompanying sauces were prepared perfectly and delivered to our table on sizzling, cast iron platters.. Each of us remarked that the quality and flavor of our steaks were on point..
As for sides, my colleagues sampled the creamy parmesan spinach, and I sampled the buttered mashed potatoes and roasted corn.. All three were solid choices..
I opted out of a post-meal treat, but my colleagues sampled the French coffee and a Mojito mocktail, and both were quite pleased..
All in all, I am very thankful I got to experience Al Boom, and should I return to Kuwait 🇰🇼 City in the future, it will certainly remain one of my top choices for a unique and quality dining...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Alboom restaurant located in the Radisson Blu Hotel, and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely amazing, and the service provided by the excellent waiter and management team was top-notch.
We ordered the Alboom burger, which was incredibly tasty and juicy. The quality of the ingredients was evident in every bite, and it was cooked to perfection. The French fries were a delightful surprise, as they were served in a raffle style and tasted fantastic - crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
In addition to the burger, we tried the ribs croquettes, which were equally amazing. They were crispy on the outside and packed with flavor on the inside. The lentil soup was another standout dish, with its freshness and rich, hearty taste that left us craving more.
Overall, Alboom restaurant at Radisson Blu Hotel exceeded our expectations in every aspect, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. We can't wait to return and try more of their...
