Suzette — Restaurant in Vientiane Capital

I visited yesterday for brunch. Being down a narrow soi off the main road, I had no idea what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised by the quiet & peaceful atmosphere, the cleanliness of the cafe (always a sign of good management) and quality of the food & coffee. I wasn't too hungry so chose the Croque Madam (toasted ham, cheese & egg sandwich) and a couple of coffees. The food was great and served with a simple, yet adequate (and very fresh) salad. Coffee was very good but could have been hotter. At first, I thought the prices were a little high but considering the current LAK rate, the meal & 2 coffees came to an equivalent of USD9.00, which was quite reasonable. If I have one criticism to offer, it is a suggestion that the menus be maintained more regularly. Mine was tatty and the stack of menus beside the door were all in the same state. Savory galette or sweet crepe? Hard to choose so just get both as a friend once said.

We have been going to Suzette regularly for over a year and this place defines consistency. The food, drinks (coffee, tea, etc.), and service are consistently delivered at the highest quality with utmost attention to detail. Our favourites include the salmon galette, the croque pesto, and the caramel crepe – and kids love the chicken wings. Their iced lattes go down smoother than most, and they have never run out of soymilk!

The patio is lovely under the shade of trees, the décor is crisp without trying too hard, and we like the open, light-filled space. Kids have made good use of the outdoor playground and the airconditioned indoor playroom – best of both worlds!

very very bad service,very very disappointed, no faith. Do not use USD.My bill is 84000Kip or 10 USD(the bill already calculte the exchange rate), I pay by USD 20, and I agree that They can give me KIP because they have no USD change. But They just give 76000kip and explain that the exchange rate is not 84000 for 10 USD, but 80000 for 10USD. The problem is exchange rate of the bill system already print out with 84000kip for 10 USD. I always come to this shop, but I will tell all my friend don not go the shop,especially without Kip.
