Krogs Sombrero — Restaurant in Iecava

We had a very disappointing experience at Krogs Sombrero. We came all the way from Riga with guests from abroad, hoping to treat them to a nice meal — but unfortunately, it turned out to be a big letdown.

After we were seated, it took over 20 minutes just to receive the menu. Eventually, someone did bring it, but no one ever came to take our order — we waited a total of 30 minutes before giving up and leaving.

The staff seemed completely overwhelmed and focused on other tables. It's possible they were simply understaffed, but if that's the case, they should really consider hiring more people to ensure basic service for all guests.

On top of that, the air conditioning wasn’t working, which made the atmosphere inside hot and stuffy. There were also flies buzzing around, making it even more unpleasant.

Overall, the experience was frustrating and embarrassing — especially as we had gone out of our way to bring international guests there. Poor service, lack of hospitality, and an uncomfortable environment. Would...

We didn’t ordered food because it was horrible service from the first minute we came. First of all, all the waitresses is listening the one who can speak in english, so its only her policy in restaurant. She didn’t let us to put 2 tables together so we could sit with our kids(4 adults and 4 kids). She was happy to let us know that we aren’t welcoming. Just said that we don’t have space for you. You will wait table for an half an hour. But there was no people waiting just us. Then we asked to sit near the kids playground on the terrace with a small table, but she said it is a smoking area and you cant sit there. Then one more time told ,,as i said, there is no place for you, 8 people and we can sit only separately. A space outside is nice but it isn’t worth to stop for that kind of...

To get a table it was fast. To get a menu - around 15min. To order - 5 more minutes and only because we checked menu online. Food - after ordering it, takes about 80-90min. So be prepared to wait for long time, very long time. (We ordered just 2 burgers and drinks…). Sorry it’s not acceptable. Never seen service and timings like this in the world… Food is tasty and portion size is pretty big. big plus for french fries which are made here from real potatoes.
