Reasonable food, a bit overpriced, very outdated menu and serving style. Haven't seen salad being served in glass and layered/unmixed since mid 90s, so customer has to spend his own time to mix salad which should be kitchens job. Majority of food taste as it used to in soviet union times. Ordered boiled fried potatoes with mushroom gravy, chicken with cheese and pineapple and tongue salad. Not too impressed. Potatoes mushy, dry chicken which had taste of fish, as I suspect they used same frying pan they used for fish before, mushroom gravy barely had any mushrooms. Tongue salad served unmixed in layers and not balanced. Barely any meat and extreme amount of peas, so couldn't taste anything else except peas.

Highly recommended for a homely atmosphere and hearty food. I loved the fact that you can choose your own meal by combining freshly cooked ingredients. You have plenty to choose from and everyone will find their preferred meal! It is in a great location- just on the side of the main road A3 by Virsi petrol station. Bistro style place that seems tailored to its location - large groups of tourists get offloaded from buses often and then you get stuck in a long queue. But it moves at a brisk place and soon you get to choose from a decent variety of Latvian country style dishes by mixing and matching components. It's decent hearty food, there's a good chance you'll feel really full once you are done.
