Our experience was very bad, our recommendation: stay away... Starting from valet service, they parked my new car away from the restaurant on a sandy land with open windows, when i received it back its interior was full of dust. On arrival i requested a high chair from the manager who apologized saying that he has just 3 and they are already taken, i had to carry my little son all the time and i did not enjoy my stay. Talking about food, it was a much below expectations. Tajen was served without fish( when asked, the head waiter said this is how they do it), Motabbal was full of eggplant seeds and very sharp, cheese rolls were very oily, kebbeh was stuffed with peanuts instead of pines, taouk has no taste( bad marination). Talking about the service, you barely find a server around you, at order time, the head waiter was very pushy( when you order something he automatically multiplies by two unless you tell him .e.g: if you order hommos he tells you 2 hommos and starts taking note unless you tell him one only), they serve low quality plums with little slices of melon and Katayef ( stuffed with starch and milk mix)at the end, they do not look appealing. Prices are above average and do not reflect the value of food and service provided. I strongly do not...
Read moreWe always go to Shallalat Al Barouk Hotel & Restaurant it’s truly the best place in Barouk! This time we were a group of 5 adults and a baby, and once again, the experience was excellent.
The restaurant serves authentic Lebanese food with big, flavorful portions that are always delicious and satisfying. The friendly staff and welcoming owner go above and beyond , they even helped us with our baby stroller, which we really appreciated.
The soothing sounds of the nearby waterfall create a peaceful and unique dining atmosphere. The spacious seating area makes it perfect for families and larger groups, and the valet parking is a great convenience.
At the end of the meal, they always offer complimentary fruits and traditional sweets .. such a warm and generous touch.
Highly recommend – we’ll definitely keep coming back!
Note: forgot to take pictures of the bbq platter, shrimp provencal, sweets...
Read moreThe Good: The restaurant is at an excellent location on the riverside and the food is excellent and of good quality. The Hotel Rooms are clean and well maintained. As for the surrounding, it's a 10 minutes ride to the Barouk Cedar Reserve, 20 minutes ride to Beiteddine and Mousa Castles. The breakfast is freshly prepared upon request Friendly staff and easy checking in-out The Bad: The hotel itself does not offer any additional amenities other than a room to spend the night. As for the breakfast, as delicious as it was it's served after 10 AM. So better bring some snacks if you're an early morning person. Lastly, it's a bit overpriced compared to similar places I've stayed at. If you were able to get a discount deal it would offer better value for your money. Overall, I would recommend it as a good place to spend the night after a long day of spending the day...
