During my motorcycle journey from Nordkapp to Spain, I had the pleasure of discovering Alaus Kelias, a hidden gem nestled in Lithuania. As a steak lover, I decided to give their renowned steak a try, and it turned out to be an absolute delight for my taste buds.
The moment I stepped into Alaus Kelias, I was greeted with a warm and inviting ambiance. The rustic decor combined with a cozy atmosphere set the perfect stage for an exceptional dining experience. The friendly and attentive staff made me feel right at home, and their knowledge of the menu and genuine passion for their cuisine was evident.
Now, let's talk about the star of the show—the steak! Cooked to perfection, the steak at Alaus Kelias was undoubtedly one of the best I've ever had. The meat was incredibly tender, flavorful, and expertly seasoned. Each bite was a heavenly delight, showcasing the chef's skill and attention to detail. It was evident that they sourced high-quality ingredients and took pride in their culinary craftsmanship.
To complement the steak, I paired it with a recommended local beer from their extensive collection. The staff's expertise in suggesting the perfect beer to enhance the flavors of the steak was commendable. The combination was a match made in heaven, elevating the dining experience to new heights.
In addition to the exceptional food, Alaus Kelias also impressed me with their dedication to providing excellent service. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure my satisfaction. Whether it was recommending other local attractions or sharing stories about the region, their genuine hospitality made my visit even more memorable.
As a traveler passing through Lithuania, Alaus Kelias proved to be a highlight of my journey. It's a place where food, culture, and warmth intertwine, leaving a lasting impression. I highly recommend visiting this gastronomic gem in Vilnius to anyone seeking a remarkable dining experience. Alaus Kelias is a true culinary treasure that should...

First we tried kepta duona, which was quite a small portion of white bread basically with tsaziki sauce. Nothing similar to a classic Lithuanian kepta duona with dark bread and garlic-cheese sauce for 6.5 or 7.5 euros, don’t remember.
We got to try local gira and non-alcoholic beer. Gira was good. To my mind it had a smell of metal barrel, but it didn’t ruin the taste. From non-alcoholic beer there was only one option, which is weird since this place is all about different kind of beers. And if you are driving- you cannot try different non-alcoholic beers. The beer was nonsense, mostly felt like 50% water, 50% sweet beer.
I ordered a burger with pulled pork, which goes together with fries and sauce. Sauce was a mix of ketchup and mayonnaise, same in the burger. Sauce had some spoiled taste of water after cucumbers, which was impossible to eat with fries. Burger was a unique “experience”. Actually homemade burger or McDonald would taste 10 times better than that one. The burger was cold, instead of pulled pork it was something similar to preservative pork mixture, fresh cucumbers (!?), slightly red tomato endings, even cheese didn’t melt on the meat. I didn’t want to finish the meal. 13,5 euros
Same story with another burger with pork.
My friend ordered chicken fillet with salad, the food was ok but nothing special for the price and no garnish. My another friend ordered beef meat with mashed potatoes, which was ok. But he said that he can make better one at home and not for 17.5 euros.
Though the place had interesting deserts options, like ice cream with bear and other. Which we didn’t try, since we didn’t like other food.
This for sure can be a great place to try tasting sets of local beer, but about food not sure.
By the way water that stays on each table was not fresh. Probably the bottle wasn’t washed well, or water stayed...
Read moreWe have been to the restaurant several times. The beer was delicious and that was the only plus. The menu has not changed for years, portions are quite small. There is practically no choice for children except pancakes and fries... The real highlight was the waitress who was informed about her seafood allergy and whether she could serve only fish with mashed potatoes without mussels and shrimps. The shrimps were on a separate plate and the mussels were in the fish. I switched dishes with my husband so as not to wait any longer. The waitress was offended. The board for 4 people, which we ordered every time during our stay in Lithuania, was a misunderstanding... the bread looked like the leftovers of someone who didn't eat from the table next to us, the board was very poor, unlike what it looked like before. The prices are really astronomical. For such a place, it could use a breath of freshness, a choice of menus, and not every other item with seafood... only the beer is defending itself, which...
