We went as 2 couples to La Croccante for our first time, to check if they would have good pizzas.
The waiter welcomed us in a bit of a transactional, not-so-welcoming fashion first. We then wanted to order 2 pizzas to share, 1 coke, 1 beer and half a liter of red wine. Especially since we had already eaten and drunk a bit at the event before.
The waiter told us we couldn't "share a pizza and that everyone has to have their own meal", in a rude way. I insisted to ask why this wasn't possible, he then brought the chef to explain to us why. The chef bluntly said "we are not there to lose money", and he was perceived by all of us as quite rude for his way of explaining this. The place wasn't even full for context.
My wife being on a diet, she only wanted a small pizza bite, so I had to do a 'sandwich' of 2 pizzas (see picture, one pizza sandwich for me, nothing for my wife) and basically tried to eat a lot of pizza by myself.
And the pizza? It was very mediocre. Obviously since I couldn't finish the 2 pizzas, I brought the rest back, and, in the end, threw it away since it was still tasting terrible, and I hate throwing food away.

We didn't feel welcome. Last time I was there as part of a big group: ordering pizza was not recommended by staff because of long waiting, so we ordered different food but still waited for an hour for it to arrive. When we were leaving the payment of the invoice was not possible in a way that was agreed beforehand at the time of booking. I got a feeling that they are arrogant instead of nice and having very different approach to their costumers. So you might see how the table next to you gets free limoncello but you will not, because they decided...

The service could have been better, but the staff seemed very stressed out that night, so it's not too surprising. The restaurant is small and simple, but that fits the casual vibe. It doesn't feel bad at all. In fact, it feels cozy and down-to-earth.
The prices are fair for what you get, and in general, it's a nice place to go if you want simple, tasty Italian food without any fuss. If I were in the area,...
