Cacao beach, Chez Loulou — Restaurant in Nosy Be

We visited Cacao Beach, Chez Loulou in Andilana Beach based on a recommendation from Lonely Planet, and it did not disappoint. Situated right on the beach with your feet in the sand, the setting is absolutely idyllic—perfect for a relaxing day by the ocean.

The food was excellent, with everything we tried being cooked to perfection. The grilled duck, lobster, and zebu were all flavorful and beautifully prepared. The service was equally impressive—friendly, attentive, and laid-back, matching the beachy vibe of the place.

A standout feature is that the restaurant offers sunbeds if you eat there, so we took full advantage. After our meal, we spent the rest of the day lounging, soaking up the sun, and enjoying the tranquil atmosphere. They also offer massages, which added an extra layer of relaxation to the experience.

The prices were very reasonable, especially given the quality of the food and the additional amenities. The beach itself is lovely, with soft sand and clear waters, making it a fantastic spot for a full day of indulgence.

They refused to serve spirits or cocktails although you can see the alcohol behind the counter. They would only sell beers and soft drinks. Their service was terribly slow. Starters were ok. The beef main course was dry, lacked flavour and was served with plain dry rice. The nougat dessert was absolutely delicious though.
