The environment at 10gram Dato Onn is lovely — filled with greenery, bright, and very clean. I was expecting a nice lunch experience, but it turned out mixed.
First, the paper menu had pricing errors (breakfast pancake RM11.90 vs dessert pancake RM12.90 for the same setup). When I clarified, the waiter asked us to scan the QR menu for the “correct price.” Unfortunately, the pancake — along with many other items — was unavailable. It was a long weekend, but shouldn’t they stock up more for holidays?
Another surprise: we were asked to pay before food was served, which felt unusual for a café setting and a little inconvenient. Their ordering system also isn’t smooth — you need to rescan the QR after each confirmed order.
We ordered a Big Breakfast, Grilled Chicken Chop with mushroom sauce (served with spaghetti), and a Chicken Pepperoni Pizza. No tomato sauce available, which is odd for western dishes. The food itself was served hot and fresh:
The thin-crust pizza was flavorful, crispy, and cheesy — well done.
The chicken chop tasted good, though fries placed under the meat turned soggy.
The Big Breakfast was decent, the usual bread–ham–sausage–egg combo, done properly.
Overall, the café serves “normal food done well,” but nothing really stands out. Improvements to the ordering and payment system, keeping stock for popular items, ensuring condiments like tomato sauce are available, and small touches like providing serviettes with cutlery would elevate...
Read moreThe serve is very untrained..my dad ask for three more cili sauce and he have the face of confusion in his face and then he just bring one sauce to our table after we ask for three. And the serve there not even looking at the customer we had to call them for many time before they notice us and provide us a service . The food is average but watting for it for like 45 minutes is so outrageous. Again about the service since we watting our food for so long we ask the serve to check if our order is in, and then we never got the answer if the order is in or not the serve don't come back to our tabel to tell us. Can you please train your serve how to serve properly? Is that so hard? Is not even at a busy time there and serve is still slow to serve the customer. I even saw then talking at the cashier while we were calling for them. And what's up with ur menu? It say chicken CHOP with spaghetti but I got chicken GRILL and my dad order for chicken GRILL he got a chicken CHOP. We spend RM80+ but can't even get an good service? You Know people when they hungry they got impatient right? So give a good service to the customer if you not going to then don't...
Read moreI’ve been to the Cyberjaya branch before and had a pleasant experience there. However, my visit to the Dato’ Onn branch was not as lucky.
First, I believe customers should at least be provided with a physical menu. The ordering system requires scanning a QR code, but the online menu has no visuals, which makes it difficult to choose. Usually, I have no issues with QR ordering, but this time it was odd because I could only place one-time order. After that, I couldn’t add more items and I had to go to the counter to check 🤷🏻♀️.
I visited on 14/2/2024 around 8:30 PM-ish. The food took almost 30 minutes to arrive, which was still bearable. However, when the food was served, the portions were smaller than what I’ve come to expect. The fish and chips were quite small, and even the rice portion was less than usual. I assumed it might be due to rising costs, so I let it slide.
But as I was leaving, I passed by another table and was shocked to see their Beef Cheesy Fries:- the cheese and beef were just in clumps on top. It was quite disappointing to see this at a restaurant I used to frequent...
