Haziq Shell’All’Out — Restaurant in Bandar Dato' Onn

Came here the first time in 2023 and the food was good, so I recommended and brought some people along on 25 June 2024 to try it but unfortunately the standard dropped when we came again.

We chose to dine in here as it is indoors and air-conditioned. However, the staff left all doors opened, and we were okay with it at first but

There were a lot of big flies entering the restaurant and landing on our food. The flies are big and green in color, not the normal houseflies. We were not able to eat in peace as we had to constantly swipe the flies away.

When it was getting out of control, the staff saw but did not do anything. Note that when we were there, we were the biggest group seated right in the middle of the restaurant and it was not busy at all.

When we told the staff to close the doors due to the flies coming in, they only shut one door which did not solve the problem at all.

Told the staff to contact the boss so we could give him a feedback as to how his staff did not handle things professionally yet they only took our number and have still not contacted us till this date (27 August 2024)

If the flies were normal houseflies and not a lot, it wouldn't have caused so much problems. But it was a lot that it came to a point where we could not even eat. It was also a very big hygiene concern for us.

It was a very disappointing experience especially since I came before and I personally recommended my friends to come and eat at the restaurant. After this, I will surely not...

For those looking for fresh seafood, pls look away. It’s all frozen ingredients, I swear it taste mushy and soft.

For the shell out, they didn’t include the prawn until I ask where was it. Not honest. But they quickly give me back the prawn which is good.

For SHELLOUT there’s only one small flower crab, tons of mussel and lala, kerang a lot too but there’s only a short corn and not more than 5 broccoli. The sauce for original taste like sugar/syrup.The rice is very small portion.

I order a sotong too, which cost RM30 for 270g and RM4 for petai. The sotong taste very very good. The only downside is the petai only have 4pcs (RM 1 per pcs ??)

Overall the experience is just meh, not worth the...

Personal opinion: The food portion was too small, but the price was a bit on the cozy (costly) side. In terms of taste, it was too sweet for my liking. We went there as a group of 10 people, but still had to add on extra items. We only got 2 pieces of seabass, which were also too small 🤣.

In the end, we were charged RM400++, so I think they should improve the portion size if they want to charge that kind of amount. Conclusion: For big groups, it’s not really worth it...
