魚記海鲜小食店 — Restaurant in Borneo

I gave this restaurant a 3.5 stars. It is quite a new place in Lok kawi/Kinarut area and I think this is the only fish restaurant (no pork) in this area which is great because there are not many food choice in this area. If you are in the area and have a craving for fish noodles and driving to KK or other areas is a hassle with the traffic jam and all, then this place is a good place to have a meal. They do have other food in their menu. Maybe can give those a try on my next visit. The Tom Yum soup tastes rather subtle, not too spicy and a bit creamy. The fish and the fish cake tastes fresh which is good. I'm not sure if they do deliveries but I've posted their business card here. So you can call them. Ok...

Sabindo/Kinarut area rarely got restaurant that served Fish Soup. This restaurant served on of the best, freshest ingredients in Kota Kinabalu area. The soup doesn't taste heavy, just nice but with a strong flavour. The soup base doesn't taste bland like any other fish soup restaurant which I've visited before. Thick and huge slices of isi Ikan Merah. Owner are friendly and ask for our opinion/room for improvement. Staff's are also good manners. Lots of parking in this area. My first try, got to be honest. It wasn't what i expected. Ordered Wat Tan hor seafood. Prawns (2 of it) was not fresh. The flesh just breaks up on sinking my teeth into it. The other seafood was fried fish flesh which was thin and dry. Disappointed!

However, wouldn't harshly judge the restaurant. Will make 2nd round try other food...
