Had lunch here yesterday. The restaurant is easy to find using waze/maps. Plenty of parking. Service is super fast. The waiting time for us is 5-7 minutes only to get all ordered.
For the food, the taste is acceptable. Nothing special. I didnt taste any spicy / sour from the asam pedas. Only salty. (Maybe different people different taste, and tasty / delicious is subjective) The watermelon lychee juice didnt taste good at all, no sweetness from the watermelon or lychee. Neither goes to honey lemon, i cant taste the honey & lemon. All is flat and tasteless. Like, i rather drink plain water instead of the juice.
You can get few snacks, biscuit and soft ice cream (for these, cash payment is required) I think, the poster of the soft ice cream really did a good scam. The picture is just like MC Donalds’s ice cream. So i ordered in the cup. Cost is RM5. It is expensive & really make no sense when i just received a cup of ice cream & a chocolate syrup drizzle. And the soft ice cream doesnt taste any good. Will not recommend it.
Overall, it is the best place for you to gather with...
Read moreWhat I like: Good environment Plenty of parking space (may need to walk a bit) Friendly staff Staff quick to clean up table for you and take order Food taste good, if not better than any other asam pedas elsewhere Clean and multiple number of toilets Clean surau (praying area - mixed gender)
What I don't like: Too crowded during peak hours. Order took very long time to arrive. We waited more than 1 and a half hour to get all our orders (with some issues explained below, item 3) A suggestion: asam pedas should be served together with sambal belacan to get the best overall taste. I wonder why the package/combo meal did not come with sambal belacan Our order got mix up/lost somehow. Informed 3 different waiters at 10 minutes intervals each about part of our order did not come. We got more anxious when the other 3 tables after us already got the same menu that we ordered. Lastly my brother went to the food preparation area himself to pick the order. I guessed the info from the 3 waiters before did...
Read moreUpon entering the Asam Pedas shop, I was immediately taken by the welcoming atmosphere. The vibrant decor and the warm ambiance set the stage for a promising dining experience.
The service was commendable, with staff members being attentive and swift, ensuring that the meal was served without a lengthy wait.
However, the Asam Pedas itself did not quite meet my expectations. The Asam Pedas Ikan Jenahak, a dish I was looking forward to, unfortunately, fell short in terms of freshness.
While the service was generally efficient, there were instances of oversight, particularly with take-away orders where items were occasionally missed. This is something that could be tightened up to match the otherwise excellent service standards.
For taste of Asam Pedas, I believe the quest for that perfect tangy and spicy kick could be better met in Muar, which is renowned for its version of the dish. The culinary journey there might just reward you with a more authentic and satisfying taste. I dont want to comment for...
