Brother Joe Ikan Bakar & Seafood — Restaurant in Johor

The quality of this place has deteriorated since my last visit, I don't remember it being this bad.

Ordered set A + sotong tepung + extra rice. Siakap 3 rasa is my favorite dish and I was really looking forward to trying Brother Joe's version, which unfortunately left a bitter taste in my mouth. The siakap wasn't fried crispyly as requested and the 3 rasa sauce is the most awful I've ever tasted. It's like they cooked the sauce using paste or mixing chili boh with a few types of sauce. Yes, that bad. If it was up to me, I would have deemed it inedible but because I hate wasting food, I tried my best to only finish the fish. The tomyam was meh but the kailan still had some sort of flavor.

Star of the show has to be sotong tepung and udang tepung. IMHO, this is the ONLY dish worth ordering (for those of you seeking recommendations). Just request for this and plain white rice cos that's all you need.

Will I go again? Maybe but not anytime soon tho. I'll order only the sotong & udang tepung next time and just have that with rice without other dishes. It's cooked in the style of my flavor, not the normal cekodok version. So till my next cravings of...

Very unhygienic, seafood never clean properly. The Crab/ketam cut into half, never clean up. Hv sand when eating the sea crab/ketam. I confronted the waitress and instead of a reasonable explanation, she said the crab were meant to be this way (I have been eating crab my whole life and I didn't know we were meant to eat crab with sand inside). This restaurant need to be taught a thing or two about hygiene. The crab was pretty empty, lots of empty shells. After viewing the reviews, I ordered fruit juice, it was totally disappointing and unlike the comment sections, just like ice water adding sugar and little fruits.
