had the pleasure of indulging in a plate of Mee Bandung Muar, and I must say, it was a culinary delight. Here are my thoughts on the experience:
Flavor that Excels: The Mee Bandung had a rich and robust flavor, perfectly capturing the essence of what makes this dish a beloved choice among locals and tourists alike. The blend of spices was on point, creating a mouth-watering aroma and a taste that lingers pleasantly long after the meal is finished. Exceptional Value for Money: Priced at just RM7.00 per plate, this meal is a steal. Given the quality and the generous portion size, the price is incredibly reasonable. Dining on 12/04/2024, I left feeling both satisfied and that I had received great value for my money. Facilities Need Attention: While the meal itself was nearly flawless, the restaurant’s restroom facilities were less impressive. They could definitely benefit from some renovation and maintenance to enhance the overall customer experience.
Overall, the Mee Bandung Muar offers a delightful taste experience at an unbeatable price. However, a slight improvement in the restroom facilities could make the dining experience even better. Despite this minor issue, I highly recommend trying this dish if you find yourself in the...
Read moreI've never tried mee bandung elsewhere other than here as this was my first time trying this famous Johorean food.
We ordered 3 large bowls of Mee Bandung King (lobsters), two plates of Original Chicken Rice, one iced tea, two iced lime drinks, one milo, one teh tarik and one iced lemon tea.
I liked the mee bandung. The gravy was sweet, salty and a tad spicy. It tasted nutty too. The small chunks of meat gave a lil bit of texture when I chewed the noodles. In my opinion, the lobsters did not really add any extra flavour to the noodles except for food aesthetic. So, I think I would rather try Mee Bandung Rusuk Kambing next time.
We also tried otak otak but it was not my cup of tea. I think the texture felt like cake that had spicy flavour. I couldn't taste the fish. Maybe it was supposed to taste that way? I'm not sure.
The service was quite efficient. The premise was quite clean but it was a little bit hot especially during lunch hour. No amount of fans could...
Read moreMee bandung costs RM7.00 which is okay. If you take the mee bandung with udang galah (river prawn) or daging rusuk kambing (mutton ribs) then obviously expect to pay much, much more.
The mee bandung that I had was a little bit too salty for my taste and the dried shrimp was a little but overwhelming. For me, that’s a 3-star rating as I had better mee bandung at other places (I prefer the shop just a few meters away - “Mee Bandung Muar”).
The mee udang galah, to me, is just a marketing gimmick. The prawn is fried and just placed on top of the mee, not cooked together with the mee. Something made just for tourists to Muar. A good mee bandung, in my opinion, doesn’t need udang galah. I saw lots of people eating the udang galah separate from their mee bandung anyway.
If you’re looking for a good, authentic Mee Bandung, there are better...
